A HISTORY OF THE BORK:

Following a discussion in an online woodworking forum about two years ago I set out to design an aftermarket device that would mimic a riving knife. Riving knives have long been a standard feature of European saws and, as of 2009, are required on any North American saws of new design in order to meet UL listing. I should mention that part of my motivation was a comment by one of the forum members who indicated it couldn't be done.  (to be continued)
